In the heart of Dartmoor National Park and 15 minutes from the A30, the historic, Bovey Castle sits high on the valleys edge. It offers a spa and golf course, and free parking.

The castle is situated over 3 floors and overlooks Edwardian gardens, the golf course and the River Bovey. Some bedrooms have views, andhave facilities for making tea and coffee and a TV.

There are two restaurant choices for dining, The Great Western Grill, with à la carte menu, offering traditional favourites, meats, grills, steaks, house specials, fish and shellfish. Dishes range from dressed Brixham crab salad to red wine braised oxtail cottage pie, and poached native lobster with truffle macaroni cheese. Also the Smith’s Brasserie offers dishes inspired from the Mediterranean, with countryside views and a fire pit.

Bovey Castle also offers a choice of breakfast and afternoon tea.

The hotel offers activities, including falconry displays, woodland walks, a indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, gym, a range of beauty treatments and a range of activities on site including a 4x4 off road track, sloe gin making, rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting and archery.


The hotel day starts from hour 16:00 and ends at 11:00.

- Rooms are serviced daily, and lodges every 3 days.
- Children may use the indoor pool between 09:00 and 17:00 when accompanied by an adult.
Please note thatspecial requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
- The property cannot accept bookings of more than 4 rooms or 2 lodges.
- If you are travelling with children, please ensure any requests you make are confirmed.
- Spa treatments and activities can be booked for an extra charge and it is recommended this is done prior to arrival to avoid disappointment.

- Lodge guests access tohotel facilities including dining, and there is a limited food offering to the lodges.
- One dog can be accommodated at the property in the Single, & Classic rooms and 2 medium size dogs in the Castle, Valley and Family Rooms for an additional fee of GBP 25 per dog per night. Guests must inform the property when booking if bringing a dog. Please note the following with regard to their stay:
-dogs must be aged 6 months or over and fully house-trained;
- Dogs must be kept on a lead around the estate (please avoid walking on the golf course);
- Dogs are welcome in the hotel in the bedrooms, Cathedral Room, the Library, the seating area under the main stairs and the South Terrace;
- Dogs are not allowed in the Oak Bar, The Adam Room and the Great Western Grill.
- Should you wish to have your dog with you at dinner there are a limited number of dog friendly tables available Smiths Brasserie so please pre-book. Alternatively we are able to serve dinner in the Cathedral Room should you wish to dine with your dog;
- Dogs are not allowed on any furniture, and should you wish to leave them for a short while whilst you are in the hotel we can provide a crate for them on request.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.



Castle Room. Double bedded rooms overlooking the courtyard or with a partial valley view, these rooms have an en suite with bath and shower. Please request if you wish for the room to be twin bedded. One child can be accommodated on an extra bed in this room. This room can accommodate a maximum of two medium size dogs, at GBP 25 per dog per night. Please request. ;
Classic Single Room. In the main hotel or Mews building (2nd floor), with views of the courtyard or woodland. This room can accommodate a maximum of one medium size dog, at GBP 25 per dog per night. Please request. ;
Classic Double Room. Double bedded rooms located in the main hotel overlooking the courtyard or woodland. These room have en-suite shower rooms. This room can accommodate a maximum of one medium size dog, at GBP 25 per dog per night. Please request. ;
Valley Castle room. Spacious king (or twin) bedded rooms with unrestricted views across the gardens and Dartmoor valley. Please request if you wish for room to be twin bedded. One child can be accommodated on an extra bed in this room. This room can accommodate a maximum of two medium size dogs, at GBP 25 per dog per night. Please request. ;
Family Room (2 Adults + 2 Children). A large open-plan king (or twin) bedded room overlooking the courtyard or valley.rooms have a double sofa bed to accommodate up to 2 children. Castle Lodge. All lodges are self-catering and have 3 en-suite bedrooms, and an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Suitable for families.
